Breasts and Bottles

I am still having little to no luck with Lily drinking from a bottle.

I try her each day and sometimes she seems slightly interested she will allow the bottle in her mouth, play with the teat a little but swallows none, it all just dribbles out the side of her mouth.

I have tried having others give her a bottle, Mum and Cameron have tried but again no luck. I have even been and brought bottles that best resemble the breast, nope she is not interested.

It is not a huge drama, it's not that she NEEDS to take a bottle. How do I explain to her she only needs to have one bottle a week, on a Friday morning!

It is ironic that when Lily was a few weeks old I was in tears as she would not feed from me, only from the bottle, and here I am today willing her to take a bottle!

If Lily wont take the bottle it just means I will have to study externally, I have done it before I just prefer not to. I find I learn a lot more by actually attending the lectures and tutorials as more is discussed and different scenarios addressed than what is covered in the external study notes. Especially for 3rd year subjects which are quite difficult in terms of complexity and depth of knowledge.

Poor Lily, she is used to me being a camera wielding Mummy, but first thing in the morning, that's a bit rough! I think that is what she was thinking given her expression.

In this photo it looks as though I have plucked her from her crade and put her straight on the bed and taken a photo, which is precisely what I did!

Hi Jess

Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving such kind comments. I love meeting new people like yourself in the blogosphere.

I've enjoyed reading through your recent posts and will be adding your blog to my list of favourites.

Your Lily is adorable and she obvioulsy knows she's on a good thing with her mummy's milk. It's amazing how some baby's take to bottles and others (like my seven month old and your beautiful Lily) flat our refuse.I hope that you are able to come up with a solution that works for both of you.

I noticed on your Salma Hayeck post that you asked for advice about how to embed a clip in a blog post. I have been given the following instructions, I am yet to try them myself, but this is what I have been told:

In the upper right corner of Youtube, you'll see the word EMBED. Copy it. Then go to your post. Instead of going to compose, go to HTML mode. Paste it. When you go back to COMPOSE it will be there. It takes a few minutes to load.

Hope that works for you.

I look forward to visiting again soon.
