Puffy

I seem to go from not blogging for ages to two posts in one day!

I had a lovely day today with Mum, Nana and Aunty Kylee, we all had a great time chatting and laughing away.

I guess the only downer of the day is that Aunty Kylee especially, since she hasn't seen me for about 5 weeks, cannot believe how puffy I have become.

And it is true we took some photos today and I honestly am unrecognisable in some of them, it is awful and I am actually feeling really down about it.

My arms, legs and also most upsetting my face has blown up like a balloon, I guess looking at the photos today made me realise just how bad it is.

I am upset now and don't even want to be in any photos when bubs is born, I look terrible!

Since I am so upset with how I look, here is a nice photo of Aunty Kylee, Nana and Mum.

Can I go through the express lane with this? Here is my kitty winkle last night deciding the shopping basket is a fun place to sit!

Here is our dog Roxy deciding to be a lap dog, she is just a little too big! Excuse daggy, unshaven Cameron and the weeds in the background!

Friday

Well today is Friday, I must admit Fridays are a lot different now that I am not working.
Usually Fridays would have an air of anticipation about them, knowing that after today I would have 2 whole days of freedom to do what I pleased.

At 5:00pm I would drive home with a smile on my face looking forward to the days ahead, I do miss that feeling.

Now Fridays are just another day however it is still nice to know that I will get to spend the next two days with Cameron.

This week make that 3 days as Cameron is not working today. Jamie's ute needs new front wheel bearings so they have taken the day off to fit those. The joys of being your own boss I guess!

Cameron is currently in bubs room painting the bottom colour, yep we have left things until quite late, however I was determined to get the painting done before our new cream carpets are laid on Wednesday, can't wait!

I just had to go and tape Camerons hand back together as he cut it open trying to do something with the paint tin, made my tummy go all funny, I can't believe I used to want to be a nurse!
I just informed Cameron that I think he will have to go with bubby when s/he has to have their needles as I really don't think I could do it.

I am excited about today because my aunty who I rarely see and also my precious Mum and Nana are coming over for the day, I love nothing more than days like today which are to be spent with family, we rarely all get together so I am really looking forward to it.

Before I go these are my gorgeous flowers that I received from work, I also received $370.00 and a lovely card that everyone had written on. I was very spoilt!

A very special lady that I worked with also gave me a beautiful card with words that brought tears to my eyes and the most gorgeous glow toy.

And here is another belly pic from the weekend that I finished work, so that would have made me 30w 3d

Best be off to frost my vanilla cupcakes that have just cooled, they smell devine. (Aren't I just turning into the domestic goddess ha ha)

Just before I dash off, just want to share this quote that I found, I thought it was beautiful.
"I hope that my child looking back on today, remembers a Mother who had time to play.
Children grow up while your not looking, there'll be years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So quiet now cobwebs, dust go to sleep, I'm rocking my baby, and babies dont keep."

33 Weeks

My goodness how did that happen! In 7 weeks I am going to be a Mum, I simply cannot wait.

This pregnancy really has just flown right by, I just hope it continues to go this quickly, they say that the last month really drags so it will be interesting to see.

Although I may not even make it to full term. The doctors are saying that if my blood pressure is still high I will more than likely be induced early, not my desired outcome, however I am prepared to do whatever it takes for our baby to be delivered safely into this world and into our arms.

I still can't shake this negative feeling, I am trying to reassure myself and put these feelings down to hormones, I have been feeling quite fragile in a sense for about the past week, and got a little upset this morning, even my watch is now tight, so I am swelling elsewhere also, not just in my feet.

I find it difficult to look at body parts and try to determine if they are swollen or not.

I have an appointment at the hospital on Tuesday morning so I will voice my concerns then if I am still feeling this way.

Just making a quick note of things I need to tell doctor.
  • I had a blood nose on Tuesday, I cannot remember the last time I had a blood nose!

  • The past two nights I have awoken with pins and needles in my fingers.
  • Stomach Cramps
  • Swelling in hands and feet.

  • Reflux/Heartburn
I don't want to ring the hospital just to tell them about the above because I know I am probably just being a paranoid first time Mum, however if I start to feel worse I will certainly phone them.

Thought I better add in a belly pic that I got Mum to take today, I have been really slack in taking these! I cropped my face out as I was pulling a horrible face!

Lets compare todays pic to the last one taken in front of that tree at 18w, My god I am now HUGE!!!

And this one taken at 21w 1d, and I thought I was big then!

Thank goodness bubby is going to be born in spring, the weather will be nice, I will be able to pound the pavement each day!

Miss Worry Wart

Yep that is me!

The past couple of days I have been feeling quite off, I have put it down to having such a busy weekend and probably overdoing it a little.

However bubby has also been rather quiet over the past few days, I try telling myself that s/he is probably running out of room in there and that is why they are a little quiet, it is hard to stop alarming thoughts running through my mind though. I really wish that I wasn't such a worrier!

Up until now I have been so good this pregnancy, in remaining calm and positive however over the past couple of days my worries have returned.
I guess I am scared that something could still go wrong with this pregnancy, and then I tell myself not to worry because I don't want to increase my blood pressure anymore than it already is. It really is a vicious cycle!

I have been having some tummy pains over the last couple of days, I guess like a dull constant ache, I think I may be coming down with a bug perhaps.

Better run Mum just got here.

Nesting

I cannot believe I finished work two weeks ago! The time has just flown by.

It would appear that 'nesting' has kicked in for me, and I must say that the house is looking great for it. I woke up on Saturday and it was clear to me that I was in the mood that if anything sat still for long enough, it was gone!

Everywhere I turned it felt like there was clutter, which was probably compounded by the fact that Cameron is in the middle of painting bubs room so everything that was in that room is currently being stored in various parts of the house.

We live in a 3 bedroom home with a formal lounge, but we just have too much stuff! I do sometimes worry how we are going to manage when bubs comes along, as a lot of the time it feels like the house is too small just for Cameron and I.
That is when I tell myself that people live in houses the size of ours with 2 children so we will cope just fine.

I have never been the type of person to stay at home, even when working and studying full time, I could not stand to be at home on the weekend. This was one of my worries about finishing work early, what on earth would I do with myself?
Well it has been a huge shock to all my family, and more so to myself, but I have turned into the biggest homebody!
I am loving just pottering around the house and garden at my own pace and doing as I please.

I really didn't think I would enjoy my time at home, but I am really loving it.

It would also appear that I have a new passion... sewing and knitting.
I was taught to knit and crochet as a child however haven't done either for years. I have started knitting again and really enjoying it. At this stage I am just knitting squares that I am going to make into a baby rug. Perhaps once I have finished the rug I will be a little more adventurous and attmept something with a pattern.

I have also pinched Mum's sewing machine, no loss to Mum it has been sitting doing nothing for quite some time. After some initial arguments with the machine about coming out of retirement we are beginning to forge a bond hehe.
Again I have never been a sewer so at this stage I am purely practicing on scrap material learning to sew straight, threading the bobbin and machine etc.
All very basic but I am loving it and am going to look into having some formal lessons. There are so many things I would love to make, so am really looking forward to exploring sewing some more.

I am also very excited that next Wednesday we are having new carpet laid! We have been here some 18 months and our carpet needed replacing when we brought the house however we have held off until now. I guess with us both working full time and my studying also a lot of things around the house have been put on the backburner however now that I have more time on my hands we are able to get these things done.
I am also excited that we now have cupboards in the laundry! Our house only has one built in robe and no linen press, so not much in the way of storage!
Until now our linen etc has been stored in various places around the house however on the weekend we got a 2 door cupboard for the laundry and also a two door wall cupboard that will go above the washing machine.

So all in all I guess things are starting to fall into place.
