Nesting

I cannot believe I finished work two weeks ago! The time has just flown by.

It would appear that 'nesting' has kicked in for me, and I must say that the house is looking great for it. I woke up on Saturday and it was clear to me that I was in the mood that if anything sat still for long enough, it was gone!

Everywhere I turned it felt like there was clutter, which was probably compounded by the fact that Cameron is in the middle of painting bubs room so everything that was in that room is currently being stored in various parts of the house.

We live in a 3 bedroom home with a formal lounge, but we just have too much stuff! I do sometimes worry how we are going to manage when bubs comes along, as a lot of the time it feels like the house is too small just for Cameron and I.
That is when I tell myself that people live in houses the size of ours with 2 children so we will cope just fine.

I have never been the type of person to stay at home, even when working and studying full time, I could not stand to be at home on the weekend. This was one of my worries about finishing work early, what on earth would I do with myself?
Well it has been a huge shock to all my family, and more so to myself, but I have turned into the biggest homebody!
I am loving just pottering around the house and garden at my own pace and doing as I please.

I really didn't think I would enjoy my time at home, but I am really loving it.

It would also appear that I have a new passion... sewing and knitting.
I was taught to knit and crochet as a child however haven't done either for years. I have started knitting again and really enjoying it. At this stage I am just knitting squares that I am going to make into a baby rug. Perhaps once I have finished the rug I will be a little more adventurous and attmept something with a pattern.

I have also pinched Mum's sewing machine, no loss to Mum it has been sitting doing nothing for quite some time. After some initial arguments with the machine about coming out of retirement we are beginning to forge a bond hehe.
Again I have never been a sewer so at this stage I am purely practicing on scrap material learning to sew straight, threading the bobbin and machine etc.
All very basic but I am loving it and am going to look into having some formal lessons. There are so many things I would love to make, so am really looking forward to exploring sewing some more.

I am also very excited that next Wednesday we are having new carpet laid! We have been here some 18 months and our carpet needed replacing when we brought the house however we have held off until now. I guess with us both working full time and my studying also a lot of things around the house have been put on the backburner however now that I have more time on my hands we are able to get these things done.
I am also excited that we now have cupboards in the laundry! Our house only has one built in robe and no linen press, so not much in the way of storage!
Until now our linen etc has been stored in various places around the house however on the weekend we got a 2 door cupboard for the laundry and also a two door wall cupboard that will go above the washing machine.

So all in all I guess things are starting to fall into place.
